Rookie!

You said it, any,

Don't be cheap, pay Snowest for premium membership, then read and read some more. Use key words in your specific category not whole forum searches like two stroke and 500, repeat. Don't make a thread for every question, it's probably been answered which also means it's been asked a dozen times before, search, or private message. I find it harder to breathe up high, so do engines, JDJetting, APT. My .02

This one's in Texas, soo fitting, a sled dealer.

Build or buy a kit yesterday, my KX500 build is dragging out, at least I have a backup:face-icon-small-win, a Recluse is a budget decision!

I'm running a z-start pro on mine. Worth every penny. Depending on your normal elevation gain on a typical day, you'll have to jet it a little lean at the lower elevation so it will "come in" at higher elevations. just be careful running it hard at lower elevations. Make sure you have a good air box/filter setup as the big 2 strokes pull a lot of air and will go real rich if your filter plugs up with snow

Your running a PWK 39.5 right? What's your jetting. I am running a 50 pilot with 185 Main but am thinking about going a little leaner. I can't remember what needle I have but clip is in the middle.

Yes, I'm running a 39.5. When it was colder I was running a 180 main (-15 to -10 C). It's warmed up here a bitthis past weekend and went to a 178 and then to a 175 main. It started very well with a 48 pilot when I was running the 180, but now with the 175 it needs WOT to start so I need to change to a smaller pilot I also had to lower the needle one clip to help the midrange transition. Now it's a little lean at 1600' but runs nice and clean above 5000' and a little rich above 6500'.

Power Jet in my PJ made things very simple. (from Fastrax )

I'm looking to get some taller gearing, My 13 tooth is a little small.
What are you guys using (Ausm, Carbondaddy, 4Z)?
I thought I read in another post about someone trading the 13 onto the horse and the bigger horse gear onto the primary? Cant seem to find it or figure out if thats even possible.
