98 700 RMK bogs

OK, here's the story: bought a 98 RMK 700 with a few mods. It screams at full throttle, but bogs at less than 3/4 throttle. At 3/4 or more, it's like hitting an "on" switch and it hauls.

I've shimmed the needle leaner, and it pops badly. Richer seems to help, but still boggy at less than 3/4 throttle.

It starts very easy, doesn't seem cold blooded. Has a brand-new top end (less than 200 miles on it.)

The jetting is bone stock, can't recall the sizes but I compared it to the Polaris manual for that year and it's correct. Air screw is 1 turn out.

Mods:
SLP can (stock pipe)
SLP boost bottle
SLP power pack (the little carb inserts)
SLP air horn
TEAM secondary

Running at 6000-9000'.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you're lean til you hit the main jet circuit.

Try some bigger pilots, and maybe raise the needle.

What needle, and slides are in it?

Sounds like it to me too. Does it get better or worse if you mess with giving it half choke when it's bogging? If it gets better then you need bigger pilots or raise the needle. Are you sure your pilots aren't clogged?

I remember running different slides in mine also. (600 though)

I had to throw some big pilots in it to get it to flow enough fuel at altitude also.

I have 5.5 and 6.0 slides laying around, just don't remember which ones i switched to.
