Ok all the threads i read on here talk about adjusting the red screw on the rave cap but what about the adjustment for where the valve screws into the cover on the bellows. I don't know if it explains this in the owners manuel but i don't have one.
If you are talking the valve on the shaft (motor side) I believe you run the valve all the way tight towards the cap. If you leave this loose you may risk risk the clearance between the piston and the valve. When I took mine apart they are threaded on as far as they would go then I had to back them off about .25 turn to get them aligned. This is just personal experience.
