96 ultra rmk 153 track question

hello,
I am looking to install a 153x2" attack 20 under my loaner sled has anybody else tried this combo on a wedge chassis? I know sled will turn it. I ordered a set of 7 tooth 3.0" pitch drivers for it(they are equal to an 8 tooth 2.52 pitch driver in diameter)...so I think they will clear the front cooler alright. But the real question for me is what extensions will I need It is a 136 as of now. should I go with 151 extensions as I know that some of the WPS rail extensions have a little bit of fore and aft adjustment.. I have done a bunch of track swaps in my time but this is the first time I have installed a cat track on a Polaris :face-icon-small-con.. tunnel extensions are cake for me as I have a sheet metal break. So I got that covered. and What would a good jump off point be for clutching? Motor is a piped and ported 680....

I think this set up will be nice for my loaner as It should be snappy enough for a beginner to have fun with but not have quite enough to get into trouble with:face-icon-small-win And have the nice advantage of me not having to spend all day retriving a stuck 136" shorty!!LOL

Any advice would be awsome!!
thanks in advance

probably be able to go with 151 extensions and use a big wheel kit and that should take care of the rest. if you can make a tunnel extension that would work well for you. i know your gonna need at least 18 to 20 inches of extension to cover that, should be a pretty bad *** sled. what pipes do you have on that sled? good luck

cool thats just how i was thinking of doing it! and 20" was right where i was thinking it would be for the tunnel, I will have to look at the pipes I can't remeber what I have on it....

thanks

96 ultra were 133.5" and no front coolers. just squeezed a 2.125" series 4 in mine with 8 tooth standard drivers.
post up some pics when it done:yo:

Sadly 151 extensions are not going to do this without a big wheel kit. Your sled is a 133.5 not a 136. So 151 extensions are not going to get a 153 track tight.

Only options are a 136 base skid or a full 151 skid swap.

I think I got it figured out I am just going to mill a set out at the correct length, I was hoping to avoid going big wheel, Just because I am cheap, and I don't happen to have a set laying around:face-icon-small-hap I will keep you guys posted, as I have a few irons in the fire as of now.I had to pose the if you want to ride this winter, you will have to help on the 800 to 700 swap on your(wife) new sled:face-icon-small-win

I just put a 155 on a 97 700 that had a 136 on before. I didnt know what to do about extensions either because no one makes them. I soon realized the extensions had to be about 12 inches past the ends of the rails to stretch out the 155. I ended up moving the skid back 4 inches and dropped it too. Then I made my own extensions out of 1/4 aluminum. Worked really good. Cheap and easy too. That way you get a bit more height in the rear. And it works fine in the deep too... no trenching

well all i broke down and bought some 136-156 WPS EXTENSIONS and got them on tonight! I will post up some pictures(still got to dig out the sheet metal brake and whip out a tunnel extension...i do beleive i missed a lug or two when i trimmed the track as i have an annoying thumppity thump when i spin the track, but hey it fits:lol:

yeah I do believe it should work out good for what I am using it for...I got a set of simmons gen2 skis for it so maybe I have a chance to make that fat old triple float:lol::lol::lol: Just wish I remembered it had bad needles and seats in the carbs before I started jerking on it tonight! damn old bastard kept flooding on me so I drained the crank case(full of gas..lol)and that was when I remembered the carb issue...lol Guess thats what I get for letting her sit for so long parked!
