96 583 stalls when warm

I have a 96 summit 583 that runs great until its riden hard and warms up. I have cleaned and adjusted the carbs several times. It usually starts right up when its cold. It has left me walking several times. Seems as it peters out after running it hard and can not get it to restart right away. at this point not sure if its fuel or electrical. Any help would be greatly appreciated I am on the line whether to keep this sled or set it on fire. How could I check if the stator or magneto is bad or if the condensor is bad?

The coil can warm up and open up the internal circuit doo to expansion and drop out untiull it cools aggin. I imagine that the stator could doo the same?

I had trouble on my '96 580 with the coil getting wet after stuffing the hood through the snow. The snow would melt down on the coil and short out the wire. It would run on one cyl for a while untill it dried out, and then be fine aggin.

I fixed it by stuffing the coil wire holes full of Vasaline and then re-installing the wires. That pretty much took care of it for me.

You need to decide whether it is losing all spark, or one side to decide where to look next.

When it dies you need to check for spark. I have a 583 Summit I just picked up cheap. The prior owner complained it would be hard to start after it had been run and shut off. He thought it was flooding because after it sat it would usually start. I messed with it and found out when it would not start it did not have any spark. I eventually figured out when I lost spark I could give the CDI a light tap with a hammer or wrench I could gain spark back. I know now I need to replace the CDI.
