95 Summit 670 jetting

Buddy of mine has a 95 summit 670 he wants to take to the snowies to screw around with. The alt comp, doesn't seem to be working correctly, so it's getting tossed I think.

Anyone know how it should be jetted and/or clutched for that alt.? Guessing 9-12k.

Thanks a bunch. :beer;

I would check it when you get there untill you are sure of how the engine reacts.

When I went to IP I was running 360's in a 95 670 with twin pipes. But around 10,000 it started to gurggle from being rich!! 350's were needed for higher. But I would take a assortment to be safe from 370' to 350's at least.

Twin pipes, if they are doing what they should, would require larger jets. I suspect my HAC is bad as well on my 95 670.

The Snowies averages 10,500 if you ride up north. Stock clutch setting 5. When my HAC was working 380 main jets and 65 pilot worked perfect (recommended setup by Laramie dealer).

My last trip out I left the stock 420 mains in and it ran very rich - to the point where I had trouble breaking 7,000 on the tach. It was a foo foo family ride so I tolerated it for a few days because I didn't feel like rejetting in below zero wind chill and snow.

I'd be curious how far the pin is recessed in the tube of the hac, in mm from the top, and what altitude you are at if you measure it. I've read it should be 3-7mm but don't know what altitude that was for. My local dealer told me the measurement is 14mm for 1400' altitude.

Hey Coldfinger, I'm in Lincoln also so if I can get him to find it and measure it I'll let you know.

Are you going unhook the HAC and rejet accordingly or repair the HAC?

If it is stock--I would go right to 380's, do a pull and read the plugs and see how they look and go from there. In full stock application I was running these with smaller pilots--then as I mooded it I started stepping it down more. But I am riding in 3500 to 7000 most of the time.
