95 Summit 670 gearing change

This thing has a top speed somewhere in the 95 mph range, maybe more as indicated on the speedo.

don't need that much speed

Anyone ever gear one of these down and did it make a big Positive diff in powder and hillclimbing? What gears and did you have to get a new chain?

Since this is my seldom used family sled and my tertiary backup sled I don't want to spend too much on it.

We used to run 22/44 gearing with a 160/230 primary spring 286 ramps around 15 gram pin weight and a 47* helix on the stock secondary.

Do you remember if you had to install a shorter chain? I checked the OEM specs and it looks like this

95 Summit 25/44 with 74 link chain
99 Sum X 21/43 with 72 link chain
