95 Summit 583 HAC questions

I purchased a older Summit - and have been set on rebuilding it... the monumental task is almost done...

Before I took it apart I did notice it was running really rich - the plugs were oil fouled.. and I found some fuel in the exhaust.. I did notice that some of the HAC lines were in rough shape... In the whole rebuild process I decided to replace every line there was.. and have cleaned the carbs and reset the carbs to factory settings - 1 turn out on the Pilot screw and readjusted to idle to specs..
I was reading here on the site about removing the HAC all together.. ( I dont ride in the mountains - just from 300 - 2000ft..)
Currently at stock there are two 380 main jets and two 480 P-0 needle jet.
Does anyone have a recommended replacement jetting? or should I just leave it all alone?
If I were to remove it all There are two ports on carbs - do I just plug them up? and with what?

I did a compression test - and it was 120PSI a side.. and took the top of the engine.. it all looked good..

Thanks

just delete that hac and rejet it! that system is a pos i replaced mine multiple times before deleting it, i acutally think it runs alot crisper without it, if you need any info pm me and i can look at my jets!

oh and the two lines are just overflows so leave about 6" on each and point them down towards your belly pan

...need more info...

My buddy has one of these, and we are having problems with it running wide open as soon as you start....can't find anything obvious...ie: slide stuck open, stuck throttle cable, etc.

1.) Do you guys have any ideas on this?

2.) Can you go into a little more detail on the hac delete? Are you just going to carb boots, and deleting the airbox? If you keep the airbox, what are you using to close up the HAC hole?

Thanks for your time.
Steve
