95 Chev door question

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have a 95 Chev 3/4 ton Love the truck but the drivers door top hinge is wore out. Went to replace it and noticed that like glued or welded on. Is there any fixes out there that can be done or any ideas.

Thanks for the help

Bryan

If the bushings wore all the way through and it started to wear the hinge, pins and bushings will not FIX the problem. Only be a temporary bandaide. There is replacement hinges from GM as well as a few aftermarket companies. They are a bolt on replacement, just have to drill the holes in the cowl side or door. Not a big deal. Otherwise you can weld the worn part of the hinge and re-drill the hole then put in bushings. Need to use a caliper to make sure it's the right size hole for the bushing. There are 2 different sized bushings on each hinge so make sure you use the right one for measurement. Hope this helps. P.S.- I do about 150 doors a year, so i know this works. Good Luck.

Take it to a body shop, it's about $100, they do them all day long and they have a jig. It's more of a headache then it's worth to save a few bucks. My .02
