'93 Phaser II - remove idlers in the tunnel?

Hi,

I have a '93 phaser II with a 136 X 1.125 lug track from a polaris that works great for my girlfriend. Only issue, I don't seem to have much track tension adjustment and was wondering if I could remove the rear set of idler (there are a front and rear set) wheels and cross shaft bolted in the tunnel.

I'm new to yamaha...and none of the other sleds I've had have these...but I want to make sure removing them doesn''t alter the track tension as the suspension cycles through the travel.

all your track would do is slap more, removing them dont really do anything to them
