91 chevy. lift ideas?

got a 91 chevy that is a 8 lug 3/4 ton. want to lift it maby to a 4 inch lift but i dont got a lot of money. thinking about the 3 inch body lift. is it a cheap sh**y lift or not to bad. cause 4 inch lifts are around atleast a grand and im not that desparate. just curious what you guys think. pry wont go too much bigger than 33s.

a body lift will work but i think they look like crap, but it leave the suspension stock. but ill ask you, do you always transport your sled in your truck? might make things more of a pain unloading and loading

Body lifts look like ****....I wouldn't waste the money. Truck looks good for a 91 as is....if you don't have a lot of money I'm sure there's something better you can spend it on than a slightly higher truck....

you guys all have good points. and i only have 265s on there and they are like half an inch from rubbing and they do when you hit a bump so with 285s im sure they will. and i found a tuff country 4 inch lift for about 980 bucks that seems like a good idea. and no i dont always use my truck to load the sled. the only thing is, is i have a buddy with a truck like mine and he put a body lift on, and just got a gap guard and covered it all up and it seems too look ok. the only thing is, after buying all the new bumper stuff and gap guards its like 400. so would i just be better off getting the 4 incher?

If you are more mechanically inclined i'd just try and go with the 4" suspension lift. I put the 4" on my 94' 1500 and I like it. It allowed me to fit 33x12.5's under it. I say the mechanically inclined bit because (at least mine wasn't) they arn't just bolt on and go like the body lifts are. There is some other cutting and modifying necessary. Some of the newer one's may not be so bad.

Here is a picture of my pickup. With the running boards it doesn't look very high but it made a difference. The tires are 33x12.5x17.

I ran a 3" Body lift on my 1994 Chevy 1500 that looked good and sat as high as a 4" suspension lift. They only take a few hours to install with no fabricating. If you're worried about the gaps inbetween the box/frame and fender wells I recommend purchasing the gap gaurd kits, they're worth it. Fraction of the cost of a suspension lift. I have owned many Chevy's with either body lifts or suspension lifts and the body lift is the easyiest to install. I ran 295 BFG A/T's with my 94 Chevy which are a little taller then 33's and had no clearance or rubbing issues.
