Hate to disagree but the gap should be 28 thousandths.

but the manual is also referring to Champions..should the CHAMPIONS and the NGKs be 28 thou then?anyone 100% sure on this one, I inclined to think .028 thousandths?

I'm normally inclined to just agree with Dave, he just knows this stuff too well. Sean is not a bad source either but in this case, Dave.
I set mine at .27 NGK's

I see what you mean sean the manual is wrong. didn't realize it till now. i agree with dave .025-.028 inch

Glad I found this thread - the deep snow manual shows .025mm (.003")
That seemed small, but even smaller when I looked at my feeler gauges
