900 Oil recommendation?

My new to me 900 will be ready to ride Friday ( clutch is on it's way back from Indy Dan ). Just in time, we are getting a big storm tomorrow! What seems to be the oil of choice for these engines ( mine is a 2006 SB ). Thanks. I tried a search with poor results.

I use VES gold in my oil tank, with the cheapest two stroke oil i can find at walmart mixed in the tank...I do like the castrol sea and snow though for premixing....1oz per gallon

alittle extra insurance never hurt

as to what everyone runs in thier oil tank.....its personal preferance....just make sure its a synthetic

Personal preference, I like to use VES gold in my 900. The most important thing though is that whatever you choose to use, make sure you use PLENTY of it... the 900s love oil and if you keep it happy, it will keep you happy!

I ran VES gold till last year and started running Amsoil interceptor. I'm one of the few who's 900 has never broken down since it was new.

My 900 blew up on all sorts of oil lol, VES Gold, Amsoil Dom, Interceptor, Shell Advance, Castrol, Spectro..... you name an oil and Ive blown up a 900 using it:face-icon-small-sho

Polaris VES is garbage! I wouldn't burn it in a fire to stay warm!

I will only use
-citco (now known as mystic) sea and snow (my fav!)
-Castro 2t
-Phillips Injex
-Walmart super-tech

HAvnt heard of anyone running Walmart supertech in their sleds. Curt at Fastrax did tell me anything TCW3 would work fine. I ran ves gold in my last 900. But crank went. So might try something different this year.

I run ves gold. Mainly because its readily available. I don't think it keeps the exhaust valves any cleaner than any other oil. The gold has never caused me any problems... but my oil pump is turned up too.
I Run poo blue in all previous sleds and the vintages, chainsaws, leaf blower etc

X2!!! I love the super-tech and castro 2t. I run it in all 3 sleds and 1oz to every gallon in the tank. Works great

Oil

I've been using Quicksilver Synthetic blend sold at Walmart. They also have a non-synthetic version as well. Both are TC-W3 rated. A few bucks more than the super-tech. Don't waste your money on the VES.

I use a mixture of 16 oz of Marvel Mystrey oil added to a gallon of any 2 stroke oil. So basically when I crack open a gallon of two stroke i put in 16 oz of Marvel. Usually just enough room in the gallon container. I have 4 900's and have never had an engine issue.

Don't listen to Sean on this one. He is simply repeating what someone else told him. More than one of us has 4000 mile plus 900's running VES Gold. When I changed the pistons on mine last year for the first time since new to the 06 pistons. The Engine looked brand new inside, even the lettering on top the pistons was clearly readable. It was the cleanest nicest looking two stroke I have ever opened up using only VES gold. I am 100% certain other factors where involved in engines that failed on VES gold other than the oil.

Currently I'm running Amsoil interceptor. NOT Dominator!!!

Thanks for the replies. I used Amsoil Interceptor on my Pro X 800, 4500 trouble free miles. I still have a gallon left so I will use that up and then decide if I want to change.
