i hear the carl's 975 kits are gone, besides turbos', what other options are there for '05 900's:face-icon-small-fro

get with BIGGDAWG, he is selling his HTG 975 kit..

you can get the cylinder porting and go with the SLP perf. edition kit/reflash...thats a HUGE plus..the porting is a BIG deal..

TURBO THAT BABY!!!!

My 9 is ported and has the SLP performance package. It scares the chit outta me :D

tested a friends non-boost Yamaha last weekend on the mountain and it felt sooooo weak and unresponsive compared.

SLP claims 173hp with the performance package, I don't know how much the porting gives.

thanks for the info, has the kit been installed, why is he selling, & how $$$,jj mine is '05 900, slp says 167 hp. the porting would help the bottom end & mid-range flow much better, porting by slp standards or someone else's

With the porting and performance package, do you have to run anymore that just premium gas? (91 oct.)

I actually don't know who ported it, bit it was for more low and midrange power.

As for the octane, I have no clue. We only have 95 and 98 on pump in Norway, and the price is a quarter a gallon in difference, so I only fill 98.

"Only 95 & 98 " Out of the pump..... WOW how much is that?
Used to get Sunoco Race gas out of the pump $$$$

We pay around $8/gallon for both gasoline and diesel. Norway = insane taxes.

What I meant was I don't know about the 91 because we don't have it, not that it was bad having 95/98 in tap everywhere :)

Not to create a arguement.... the octane ratings around the world use different ways of rating.
I am not sure what system they use in Norway but I know that central europe uses a different way of rating fuel than north america. (RON vs MON)

Europe 98 RON is actually closer to north american 92 MON

every day I learn something new is a good day. Today is one of those apparently!

I had to do some reasearch on the RON/PON/MON, and your grading is actually Pump Octane Number, not Motor Octane Number, according to the first couple of sources I found.

Your premium (92) is equal to our 98 so yes the ported cylinders I got works with premium :D

This leads me to another Q, but its a semi digression from the topic though. NOS is also an alternative for more power. My sled is equipped with a Boondocker system.
I see that many on here only use NOS when their fuel is mixed with race gas. Should I be careful with my system on pure premium?

i personally will not use NOS with premium fuel alone..some have tried it..no more then a 30HP shot i believe and said it was fine, but for sure any morfe then a 30 shot..i would mix a much higher grade of fuel in..

you can safely run a 50HP shot with 2-3 gallons of race fuel (i.e. 110 sunoco)

you will DET otherwise...and could cause some serious engine damage without higher rated fuel..

good luck bud...enjoy that sweet a$$ sled

turbo them... they are fast!!!... search for jskattum606's sled.. i ride with him and that thing is a kick in the pants! it gets around... with the 166 you have to work to get it stuck.

you shouldn't have to worry as long as you change the squish or cut your heads, porting just helps motor flow much, much better
