900 ignition oddity

Have a 2005 rmk 900 with no spark. Checked all components and they test good. Stator tests fine. Voltage regulator is working, holds at 14 v when spinning engine with 1/2" drill. Capacitor is good. Just no spark when trying to start. Put drill on clutch bolt and spin engine in reverse though and great spark. What's up?? Anyone have a clue?

unplug the key switch and the kill switch on the handlebar and test it.

There are 2 ignition pick ups ,one for forward ,one for reverse i presume...maybe the forward one is toast?

Found the problem. Looks like the pervious owner had difficulty with the flywheel and some how knocked off or pulled off the steel timing ring. Not only was it loose but he had even put it on backwards as the timing stamp on the middle trigger was facing inward instead of out where you can see it. Only noticed by comparing to another flywheel I recieved with some parts. Changed it out and all is good!!:light:

RMK 900 Hotwired

I bought an 05 RMK 900 159" and the previous owner lost the key and hotwired the sled. Do is just plug plug the ignition wire back in to the ignition switch or what. Any ideas on how to unhotwire it? Any information helps thanks!
