I was putting my motor back together after losing a rod and spoted a small crack in the lower case. I would like to find another case, but there seem to be hard to find, so I am wondering if any of you guys have tried welding on these cases. The case doesn't seem to leak, but I am a thinking it is a weak point that might open up after running for awhile.

I have welded a number of cases with cracks to half dollar size holes and have had no problems with any of them. If all you have is a crack I would clean it up with solvent and if you have access to a bead blaster remove the paint around the crack and seal with with JB weld.
