900 check engine light????

yesterday coming home after a long day in the mountains my sled's check engine light started to flash the last 10 km's home. Anybody know why??? It ran the same no problems at all! wondering what's up

05900
thanks
I have to check it again to see if it flashes. Is there a way to get rid of the flash myself, and is it harmful to ride it with it flashing, because when I was riding there seemed to be no difference with power, speed, etc
????just wondering

It depends on what the code(flash) is . If you fix the problem the light should go away on its own.If it ran fine its probably not serious though.I would bet one of your sensors has gone bad and is out of range.

Take it in to your poo dealer they can reset it with the DW. But i would have a new temp sensor put in it, they are not to much $$ for the fix.The sled will not run at peak RPM if it's not fixed. I had to put two in my 05 900 when i first got it but have not had any more problems with it.

I just talked to my mechanic, not from a polaris dealer. He stressed that I was probably running the sled too hot- hardpacked trail coming home, which I was. I don't have any scratchers, that would of helped. That's better advice than a $200.00 sensor that's not needed at the moment.

Like I said you can have it reset with a DW put it will do it again. Even with the scratchers if your running trails long & fast or long pulls 1/4 mile or so with out stopping to cool off.
Just trying to give you a heads up good luck with it.
