Opinions and suggestions needed:

900 with 5,200 mi. and counting.
After the season I plan on pulling the motor to do some upgrades to the 2005 Switchback 900 to install some Comp mounts, FBF cable, push/torque arms, and good over all inspection. While the motor is out and everything is much more accessible I am wondering what else I should do to the engine/chassis before install to maximize the life of the engine. Is there any point to rebuild if it isn't already broken? This sled and motor to my knowledge is stock and has 5,200 mi. and is a strong runner. I am not sure what updates have been made to the sled since I am the third owner.

Thanks for the time and energy everyone puts in to this forum.

looks like you have a handle on your plans...great start for sure..

you should check the crank run out, with the miles on the crank its VITAL..get the primary balanced this summer as well...

the only thing that stands out to me other then the good stuff you have planned...is maybe make your own grounding straps for the motor, ECU, VR...lots of guys doing it not and its a pretty good idea..will do one myself this summer..

check your TPS settings, replace your TPS harness as well..replace your primary BOLT, all clutch springs/bushings, check your throttle body boots, check your exhuast bellows, replace gaskets where need be

along with checking ALL your wiring..you might want to re-route some of it, check it ALL for fraying, chaffing...and take care of it now before its an issue...

if your runout is good, leave it..your call...but start thinking about crank replacement if its the stock crank, if your compression is good, and your pistons are MINT, leave them in...

just my .02
