900 Belts

I was wondering if anyone knew how well the gates (or similar)
aftermarket belts worked. How do they compare to stock... Better
or worse?

Thanks!

If you throw a belt at WOT you may damage your bearings and crank.

There is no belt more durable than the 1115 belt.

The 080 belt will leave lots of belt residue in the clutch area.

A perfectly aligned 900 engine will not eat a belt.

So why are you considering a belt to save $50 to $100 when the cost in the event of a thrown belt is an engine?

If your drivetrain is aligned perfect then any belt will work well.

I've used the Carlisle XS for two years now and have had geat success and very little wear on the belts.

Carlisle Ultimax XS Drive Belt
Dennis Kirk Part #: 02641
Manufacturer Part #: XS809

Your Price: $104.99

•Specially designed for today's high-horsepower sleds
•Constructed of extra strong Aramax cord in a new manufacturing process, the new Ultimax XS is stronger, more dependable and will run cooler than any other belt on the market
•And the extensive lab and field tests have proven it can withstand the punishment today's super-sleds dish out

You can get an 080 belt for under $60 and a 1115 belt for $125

don,

Please share where you are getting that 115 belt for $125. The cheapest I have found them is $147 at a place called dirtcheapshow. My local dealers want upwards of $180 for them.

I'm gonna run the 115 belt, and I have two new ones, and 2 well-used ones. That SHOULD last me a long time, but stuff happens.

Thanks,
PE

I also have great luck with the Carlisle xs and have never blown a belt . I do change them when they start to crack .

IMO..

its not worth trying to save a buck when it comes to such an extemely important part...this is what separates your sled from running all day verus chance of blowing a lower quality belt and loosing a crank stub...

babbitsonline sells the 115 belts for around $130-140 i think...

EBAY!!! I got one for 125 shipped to my door...keep your eyes open they are there....

Run the 1115 belt....the 900 is not a sled to take shortcuts on. The extra 80-100 bucks you spend could save you a lot more...
