900 with 5,200 mi. and counting.
If your engine was pulled: What would you do for upgrades/aftermarket before installing it? After the season I plan on pulling the motor to do some upgrades to the 2005 Switchback 900 to install some Comp mounts, FBF cable, push/torque arms, and good over all inspection. While the motor is out and everything is much more accessible I am wondering what else I should do to the engine/chassis before install to maximize the life of the engine. Is there any point to rebuild if it isn't already broken? This sled and motor to my knowledge is stock and has 5,200 mi. and is a strong runner. I am not sure what updates have been made to the sled since I am the third owner.

Wow...a Maniac on Snowest. Don't see that very often.
Well. If compression checks out okay, and you don't see any scoring on the pistons when viewed through the exhaust and aren't blowing belts and no oil is leaking, I'd roll the dice and re-install it after you do the upgrades you say you are going to do. Check the crank run out and make sure your not getting to close to the edge on tolerence.
Replace the jack shaft bearing just because of the mileage and look real close for stress cracks in the bulk head cross members, especially where your torque stop is mounted.
What else, I'll check my notes later and see if I missed anything....

Upgrade to 06 pistons NOW!!! 05's LOVE to break and you're WAY OVERDUE! Good job BTW, you must be dooing something right.

Just a bit North of East Port on the border. I think the fest still goes on, but I haven't been since I was a kid.
