9 inch risers on my 900

9 inches just might be an inch to high. Haven't rode it yet. I have plans to try it out this weekend

What's a rider select delete kit?

I had four inches of rise and wanted more. I couldn't make up my mind just how high so I said what the hell and went the full 9 inches. If I don't like the 9" I can use my other riser and put the bars down to 7 inches.

I'll report back with what I think after this weekend.

Some tassles would finish off the Ape Hanger look for sure

hmmm... I wish I was joking but I have around 10.5 of rise. I am 6'4 and I don't know how it will ride yet. Last season I had 9.5 and it was different. May need to drop a few inches....

rider select delete kits is just that !! It is a billet aluminum kit I make to replace the plastic OEM rider select components(tilt steering ). With a rise like that it will get loose. I have 7 inches of rise on mine and it was less than one season before it was loose as hell.

I miss the rider select though! High when your standing and you could drop it all the way back on the trail or when just cruising across a field.

damn I didn't know that when I raised them. I probably would have left it alone.

It sounds like with the rider select delete kit you loose the ability to adjust the bars.. man I don't like that either.

After what you've told me I think I might put the 2 inch riser back on and call it good. s.o.b. what a bummer. I'm a bit new to all this, I should have checked with you guys first.

His delete kit is beyond top notch and necessary even without a rise, but it does have a bit of adjustment to it. Three positions if I remember right, you could adjust it in the hills but it would take more than pushing a lever, just removing 2 bolts and moving it.Then put them back in.

I wish I would have joined the forum prior to getting the idea to raise the bars. I like the rider select, and don't really want to remove it. It was never my intention to do something that would lead to more maintainance down the road.

Anyway, I guess I'll ride it a few times then consider returning to the 2 inch rise I had before.

Is there any other reason you guys install the rider select delete kit?

Even at stock height the select will wear out, just a matter of time. I would just start saving now to get the delete in the future. I made it a season with mine up high on the stock components intact(still are fine)

I have a rider select you can have for shipping cost. And maybe all the guy's on here that have taken them off could send there's too, and you would have a supply for a few years! haha:D:D

Same reason why Polaris only made it for 2 years...they're garbage. The plastic components wear out very fast. Not only that, but we roll our sleds over intentionally when they're stuck, much easier than 10 minutes of shoveling. This and the added stress of using risers wears the plastic out even more premature. POLZINHUNTER'S rider select delete is a must have for an 05-06 regardless of riding style, risers, or the sled simply collecting dust in a garage! You'd be surprised how much wear there is even if you don't notice it AFTER installing his piece.

Just hold on to the bolts...it took me about 45 minutes to fish the one I dropped out of the bellypan:o

thats pretty funny! I actually did the same thing when I first put it on and gave up after awhile. Turned up after a couple days of wrenching, don't know how.
