87 octane

Hey guys, just wondering if running 87 octane gas in my 900 would effect anything. The reason I ask is that we have a tank that we use for our lawn mowers and other toys and thats what its got in it. Would it be ok to just add octane booster? I know that 91 is recommended. Looking forward to your input.

might cause detonation in some circumstances. I think it can be run in the stock 900 in emergencies but not recommended.

Run it in your daily driver.Cars are more forgiving than a 2 stroke.

Thanks for the input guys, the reason I asked is because its kinda a pain to keep running to the gas station with cans to fill my sled up but I guess its better than having problems.

Think of it as somewhat cheap insurance,it sure beats watching your buddies ride!

Yeah I bet that stuff is pretty expensive too.
