858 Updates Coming from AC????

So I’m guessing it’s safe to assume, that my sled that I haven’t received yet, which just showed up to the dealer two weeks ago, will have this updated tune. Hopefully it’s an improvement. Seems like the updated tune on the ‘18-‘19 ascender was a step backwards based on all the complaints at that time, so who knows. I just wish the dealer would stop lolligagging and get me my sled.
I would expect the dealer to perform the update prior to you picking up the sled.

Yeah that 18-19 flash was total garbage....
I think IMHO that this release was to fast -not enough ECU tuning, as we all know that with the first ride reports it was lazy-and Cat scrambled to clean it up-and then we heard-it was better......
Now in the consumer hands we find flaws in the ECU tuning... that was supposed to be the HUGE focus......
I can overlook the power valve (to some extent) mounting issues we have found.. but this tuning was supposed to be a paramount focus from Cat...

If a guy is just getting his new 858 I would assume at the very least, the power vale issue would be already addressed- but sometimes we on here find a hell of a lot more that the dealers are even aware of.
 
This reflash is cleaning up the fueling at mid range is what I am told. Supposed to make them run better! All of our sleds that we got need the reflash done, calling customers tomorrow. I am sorry some of your dealers are 3 hours away. If your coming through northern Utah I would be happy to meet you somewhere and do the reflash! Sometimes saving $200.00 has its drawbacks!! Imagine if you owned a Polaris, you would be upside down with all the fuel cost, just to get it to the dealer for recal
I might take you up on that offer , are you open the 20th?
 
First review on the reflash I’ve seen. Some of the wild mid range increase claims might have to be revised. Time for an updated podcast Snowest? 😜

I hope the new flash helps some. I have a new 858 and a new 9R I’ve got close to 70 miles on each so far this year. Really think the catalyst chassis is better than the matrix, but the 858 is a bit sluggish in the low to mid compared to the 9R. Both are dead even in a race up a powder slope. I’m
 
I was in Revelstoke for 2 days in deep fresh snow and the sled still bogged with the new flash. With some revised clutching, the BOG went away. Was able to better the bottom end response. I feel like the stock 62s with the straight 48 has a weird hesitation on the low end which seems to cause the BOG. With revised clutching it didn't Bog all day.

A bit sluggish.... can make bacon and eggs by the time the 858 makes it to peak rpm. lol
