858 Updates Coming from AC????

On the latest SnoWest podcast Ryan briefly mentioned AC is working on an updated tune and some adjustment with the power valve, maybe rod/cable. Does anyone have any more info on this? Would be great hearing more, especially anything related to the power valve adjustments.

I really do not want this thread to turn into a discussion/debate on the "wild" tune numbers that were being thrown out in that podcast. Someone else can start a thread on that. :)

Sounds like there is something more coming. Was hoping someone had the inside scoop they were willing to spill the beans on.....

What’s the vin range? I’ve only got 3 hrs on mine and seems strong but also it was my dealers first shipment in Oct 🤷‍♂️

According to the PDF Woody posted, it's VIN #s prior to 104450. I haven't checked mine yet to see if it's effected by the service bulletin.

On a related note, I see that it pays 0.2 hr. Got to love warranty times  (not just Cat, but pretty much most manufacturers), sometimes it takes longer than that just to bring it in the shop and do the paperwork.

Looking at VIN numbers on the sleds we have and have received I think only the last builds off the line are not affected. Anyone who has had their sleds for any length of time are most likely affected. As far as Warranty time MTN_VIPER knows... no brand ever pays the right amount of time to do warranty work.

This reflash is cleaning up the fueling at mid range is what I am told. Supposed to make them run better! All of our sleds that we got need the reflash done, calling customers tomorrow. I am sorry some of your dealers are 3 hours away. If your coming through northern Utah I would be happy to meet you somewhere and do the reflash! Sometimes saving $200.00 has its drawbacks!! Imagine if you owned a Polaris, you would be upside down with all the fuel cost, just to get it to the dealer for recalls:LOL:

the first tune was over oiling and a possible cause of a bog
This is not true, see ridge's post above.

I'm going to assume the explosion of the "oil" comments on social media today track something like this.... new user sees a ton of oil consumption due to break-in and smaller, transparent oil tank compared to procross oil tank. Said person sees ECU update and draws conclusion it must be for too much oil and spreads rumor on social media.

So if you know, what is it, Mr
Wizard?

The first line in ridgeline runner's post spelled it out, what more are you looking for? I guess my post was just to lament the explosion of this false "oiling" narrative I saw on facebook earlier today. Per Mark Twain, "A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes." I mean logically speaking this oiling excuse doesn't make sense. We all know the introduction of electronic oil pump significantly reduced the use of oil in an effort to help meet emissions standards. Now, someone is going to say all of the sudden AC is using so much oil that it is causing a bog? That just doesn't pass the smell test when you had the suzuki 800 using 3-4 times the amount of oil that the ctec 800 used and I don't recall bogging being a problem on that. Granted each engine calibration package is different, but i just don't see this ecu update as being oil related.
