850 Engine Replaced

Just got done replacing a bad engine in a doo 850 with a new short block question I have is would it be wise to run a tank of 50:1 fuel mix the first tank make sure oil pump is functioning correctly?

i don't think it's a good idea with direct injection on the etec. Not like the older engines where the gas passes through the bottom of the crankcase.

I wonder if the computer can be set to go thru the break-in mode again. Probably not without budds but maybe dealer can do it.

If that isnt an option, I dont know what it would hurt by adding some oil to fuel.

I am sure someone else with more experience than me will reply. Maybe go to the Dootalk site and see what you can find.

Yes you can have a dealer reset it to break in mode again, I was just looking to do a little oil as a precaution

correct. Best bet is to get the dealer to reset break-in and run it.

Ran summer storage mode 4 times pump is working as it should it’s at a dealer now to have buds hooked up as well thanks for the information guys
