84 phazer clutching question

I was wondering if someone could tell me what weights and spring to run in my 84 phazer so it doesn't engage till 4000 rpm's. I went to Yamaha and told them where I was riding (out their back door) and the weights they gave me engage the clutch at 2500 rpm's. No good for 10,000 feet and up. Any info would be appreciated

Man that's been awhile, but if my memory serves me. I believe there was a straight silver race spring they had that worked really good too.
I think that Red/Pink is more the recommended though. It sounds familiar.

Not on those they didn't. Actually the new Yamahas don't just use a number either. The grams are available, but each one has a different set of letters/numbers that identifies the weight.

Lighter weight and heavier spring. The 8vo's were the standard mountain weight for those. The 82m90s are a nice weight as well. I liked them better for me and my sled. As for the spring I'd try a red/pink and see if it gives you what you want. Been a while since I've played with a stock phazer.
