800r summit with nitrous...OCTANE?

I am riding an 07 800r with a 50hp nitrous shot. I ride around 9k-11k, can I get by with 87 octane?

from what I understand you shouldn't be using 87 on an 800r in the first place..let alone on nitrous. I ride @ the same altitude I always use 91.

I would bump that octane up with the N2O..........IMO blend 91 with 100LL maybe 70/30.........check plugs after a good pull, see if Deto is present.

I run a 50hp shot on my 800 and know that it will burn down on 87. You may get (2) years on 91 but will notice some pinging on long pulls. I run 70/30 with 100LL and it works well. If you can buy some race gas from VP or someone it will be even greater insurance, but 100LL works for me.

The newer summits have more compression and are able to run in lower elevations because it retards the timing. I would run 91 even when not on the botton.
On the button I think you'd be ok with 2 gallons of 100LL a tank OR Klotz, Torrco or Lucas Octane Boost. It is nice to to pull up to the pump and just add a little booster instead of figuring out how much 100LL you already have in there and figuring out what you need to add to get 2 gallons per tank.
