800r Oil Leak!?!

I have a 2007 Summit XRS that just had a new 800r put in under warranty in Jan 09. I have parked it for the summer and noticed that I have an oil puddle forming under my belly pan. I thought it was the chain case, but it appears to be 2 stroke oil. I haven't spilled any so I think it must be leaking from the container or an oil line. I can't really see any oil lines without major disassembly, so I was hoping someone else may have had experience with this. Will the engine warranty cover re and re if it was a problem with the install of the new motor? Any suggestions / comments appreciated.

u should have a one year warranty from brp on the new motor, was it the short block that they installed? is the oil black if so check y pipe bolts for tightness also thats if the oil is in front of the motor ..than also take the rave cups off and make sure the 2 bolts on each of them are tight .that is where my motor was leaking , and the whole front of the block was all oil...if the oil is not black but clean like new 2 stroke oil than ur looking at oil resovoir or lines some where..my guess is that the dealer would cover this since it started after the rebuild. hope this helps

Hey- I have a 2007 summit X 800R and noticed some oil leaking from under the chaincase/motor area also about a month ago. I haven't took it apart yet to see where it is coming from but i'm almost 100% sure its from the chaincase because my motor oil I run is red, and this oil isn't red. So you might look into your chaincase as that might be the problem. Goodluck.
