maybe we can compare and share info and see what is working the best, save some time and money
had my 885 out on the weekend, first day had twenty thou shims on stock needles, raised the pilots up one sise, and put in 530 main jets.... sled felt slugish till cleaned out and was hard on fuel over the others
second day went to stock pilots, 10 thou shim on stock needles and droped mains to 490... ran great other than a slight mid throttle hessitation, might need a bit smaller shim, mileage is better
found out that the mag side is running hotter than the pto, might need to run a bigger sise on mag... checked the plugs on a few runs and they look good at 7000' at about -9c, mag was leaner(maybe too lean)
both days i was running on clicker 1 running around the 8250rpm, will be adding some more pin weight, or heavier primary spring, not sure yet?>?
was told that the one they dynoed made it best hp around the 7900rpm
any other info would be great
