800 Pro RMK vs. Proclimb M8

Its easier to replace belts than engines, or drive shafts.

Haven't ridden a PC, but right now if I were in market for a sled after riding a Pro 800 for a couple seasons. I'd be looking at the 13 XM, 13 PC, or 13 Pro 600 [that is of course if the drive shaft issue gets resolved properly].

I'd get a feel for the chassis first (all 3), I think they are all going to work very well/similarily.

Again, don't get me wrong, I love the Pro chassis, it still amazes me.

But if Doo did their rear suspension right (for reliability) I think they are going to have a winner...regardless of the extra ~40 lbs. Same goes for the refined 13 PC.

I hate 2 stroke engine issues, thats why I left Doo for Yamaha years back... I gave the Polaris 800 a try and was dissapointed with its reliability.

Cat n Doo seem to both have the more reliable engine..with more power.
Doo also has the bonus of low oil usage.
The Pol you'll have to turn up the oiler and still run a bunch of oil in the tank if you want to try keeping from having a dead engine every season..

-Just another disgruntled Pro owner who loves his Pro....yep, the chassis is that good in my eyes . . . But I think the others are very close now...

Knock on wood...but I'm on my 5th Polaris and haven't had a burn down yet. My '11 Pro and '13 Pro are my favorites by far. I'm still convinced that the Pro Climb was designed to be a four stroke sled. Otherwise Cat could have made it lighter. If you buy a Polaris and you don't have issues then it will be a better mountain sled IMO. Time will tell if the '13 changes make a difference in reliability. The AC puts out more HP but I think you would be surprised if you rode a Pro and Pro Climb M8 on the same hill that extra HP doesn't mean a higher mark.

Just rid'em. The XM, too. It reduces the anxiety of dropping +12 large on an unknown. JMPO, of course. Everyone is different, find what floats your boat.

well, Doo has had their problem with engines, and cat with belts, and now Poo w/ some engine and driveshaft. That being said if you are buying a 2013 and don't think you can go wrong with any of them. They all have strong points and pretty realiable. I'm loving my 13 Pro so far. Super impressed. Seems a little slower compared to the Doo and Cat, but MAN does is rock in the deep. The thing flat out works like crazy. Super impressed! :bounce:

Your not the only one who thinks the PC is a four stroke chassis.

I bought a 13 pro 163 this year, i have already put on 500 miles and haven't had a single problem. I also spent a day on a 2013 m8 162, these are 2 sleds that have been built very well and in the end, u will not be disappointed with either. However, the pro is much easier to side hill, throttle response is way snappier, and i also found that when you are in those "hairy" situations, the pro is much easier to recover on, they pop up on the snow very well. The only small advantage i noticed on the cat over the pro was top end pulling power, but unless you are high marking all day you will not notice much of a difference. I also found myself way more tired at the end of the day after being on the cat.
