so I have a '09 Assault 800, 700 miles, top end rebuilt/updated, Jan. '10
reflash, running a SLP exhaust and intake.

Sled has always ran pretty good but i have had problems with it not wanting to rev as high as it should 7900-8000 rpms seems to be maxed out most of time.

so i bought a pciii with SLPs map. Ran the sled half the day without it, then installed it, noticed 200-300 more top end RPMs right away, other than that everything seemed fine the rest of the day. was happy with the results, figured it did what I wanted it to, would improve top end performance when we start getting real snow.

The next day a friend and i went out again, pciii still installed, sled was hard to start at first when cold, took like ten pulls when it has always only taken 2 or 3 when cold. Then even when warm sled was hard to start, sometimes took 3-4 pulls when warm, and it sometimes wanted to die when using reverse.

nothing else changed, riding in same location, same conditions, everything seems to be normal upon looking under hood.

Help please and thanks

a quick test is to plug the battery in to the pc3. if the sled starts normally then the pc needs to be sent back for repair. there was a problem with some of them.

sounds to me like the tps is out of adjustment..classic dieing when hitting reverse, hard start....I would pull the pc off..set the tps with a multimeter and then reinstall pc..make sure you sync the pc to the tps as well.

Responded to your same post on H.C.S. yesterday,

Had that happen to my PC-3, I sent it back to DYNOJET in Las Vegas, just call for authorization, you'll have another unit on your doorstep with a week
