New to the doo sleds i have a 03 zx and everyone says i have a non ho motor so how do i tell them apart and what size base gasket do i use when putting it together???? Thanks guys for any info..

My understanding is that the 800HO came out in 03. So I would say you have a HO motor. what number is on the jug thats an easy way to tell

When i bought this sled it was burnt down and sat for 3 years so they lost the jugs and other parts... have been buying misc parts and putting this thing together it has 1150 miles and i paid 500.00 for it so i can put a few bucks into it

Look at the number on the head
820 non HO
825 HO

If it is a 03 it should be a HO unless the head, cylinders were replaced with older technology... ie 00-02 cylinders/head

I have a '03 MXZ 800 Renegade and it is a non HO. One other way to tell is the area above the reedcage on the cylinder will have a milled area with a dimple in it. Randy
