8" VS. 9" rear idles any suggestions???

ok so i decided to replace my rails with the Ice Age rails. i have the option of going with 8" or 9" what are the advantages of each. open to any suggestions.

I have a set of 9 " idlers on my Assault. Very Fun if you like long weelies and it seems to roll a bit easier. You will be able to control Your weelie if you pur 4 idlers. But if you want Your sled to climb better stat with stock idlers..

Ran 9" on the last two sleds and now stock on the Pro. No noticeable differences other than $ outa pocket and no one can see them when they get packed with snow. Save your money :face-icon-small-hap

I had 8 inch on my 02 edge, and it free wheeled way eiser that my bros same sled. I also have them on my dragon but I never road it with the stock wheels. I like them but have been on both the sled that i have bought. Not sure if i would spend the money if they werent on my seld when i bought them.

I've tried stock 2001 rmk size (6 3/4" ?), 8 and 10 inch wheels.

Best change was from stock to 8.

8 to 10 showed no noticeable gain, imo.

So my point is the difference between 8 and 9 is not measurable, IMO.
If you have to make a choice, close your eyes and pick one. They are the same.

Stay with 8" and keep more track on the ground! There will be no noticeable difference between the two!

Mike

thanks for all the help guys i think i will go with 8s there are more options for wheels that way. plus its not much bigger than stock and i love the way it handles areaday:face-icon-small-hap

I'm running MMP 8" on my Pro. No noticable difference from stock, other than the bling factor, but like said above, you can't see them in the snow.
