7x 8 trailer vs long track sleds

Do you all think a single axle 7x8 flatbed tilt trailer could handle two long track sleds? (154 & 144) the *** ends of the sleds would be hanging off the back of the trailer a bit & the front of the trailer has 2 sled bar tie downs to keep them grounded, thanks.

Yes the trailer will work and yes they will be hanging off the back some.
You could place the sleds as far forward on the trailer as the tie downs alow to get rid of some of the rear overhang. Most 2 place trailers are a single axle.

Is the trailer 7' wide by 8' long or 8' wide? Modern sleds are too wide to fit properly side by side on a 7' wide trailer.

I ASSUME it's 7 foot wide. The gentI spoke to told me that he had used it for two modern sleds before. Will the carbides be hanging off the edges if it's 7 feet?

If both of your sleds are the narrow new style doo ski stance, you might be able to fit 2 side by side, anything else would likely be too wide... most open 2 place trailers are well over 8 ft wide and 11 ft long.

My personal opinion is that if your going to spend many thousands of dollars on a newer sled, why transport is on the 'cheapest' trailer you can find and risk damaging something.

My 2010 stock M8

Overall width 46"
Ski stance 39"

One way to look at it is both sleds sitting side/side would be 92" if I didn't want any part of ski to hang over side edge. If I just want to make sure the wear bars are all on the trailer, then could deduct 6-7" (distance from wear bar to outside edge of ski x 2 skis).

So, I figure I would need a minimum of 85" to have all the wear bars on the bed of trailer, plus maybe an inch to make sure. This would be 7'1".

What I would do is take a piece of 3/4" outdoor plyood and cut a 2' x 8' piece.
Picture this layed sideway on trailer to get you 96" width for the area where the skis will rest. Cut your holes for the tie down bars and you could trim it a little narrower if you want. Screw it to deck of trailer or bolt it down with a few bolts.
