7s offline maps

Hey might be a dumb question but is there a way to download the offline maps directly into the 7s? I know i can link my phone and the ride command app but sometimes i forget before going out for a ride.

I don't believe that is possible, as Ride Command has it's proprietary maps and they run updates every do often.

Are you talking about a current version of the snowmobile trails, or what?

To change the underlying Road, lake, water maps is a huge job, and Polaris has not come out with a new version of them since 2020.

Ya im not familiar with that part of it, im out west so we dont have that. I was wondering if i could have satellite maps downloaded on the display. The new cat g8 gauge can do this, thats what got me thinking about it

The most recent version of 7SDD software supports Satellite Maps layer on the Map screen. It requires an internet Connection to do that. Either direct Wifi internet access, if your 7SDD has Wifi, or thru a tethered Smartphone with a connection to the internet.

If you play around with the BRP app, they indicate that offline satellite maps are in development. Going to be embarrassing for Polaris if Ski Doo overtakes them as the better GPS unit.

Almost feels like Polaris has abandoned further development on the 7S. For MY 2025, they announced they'd be adding heat maps and open ride areas to the 7S.

Obviously heat maps are not something mountain riders want, but open ride areas would be nice.

The last time Polaris updated the software on the 7S was before that announcement. We're basically halfway thru the season and they haven't gotten an update pushed. I'd bet one doesn't come.

It's a shame they're botching this. Offline satellite maps are really a no brainer

Ski doo would have to come out with tracking before it even gets close to touching the 7S. That’s the single best feature. I’ve always used my phone for scouting and planning rides. If they come out with a way of putting other maps on it will make it absolutely perfect.

You need to pay a little closer attention, before complaining about late delivery on promises. The February of 2024 updates, WAS the MY25 update including Riding Areas and Dynamix Suspension Monitor screen, It has been out for 11 months and is very stable. The announcement was done after the update and capability was already delivered.
