70s vs 90s Polaris 488

Is there a difference between the 488 fan used in the early 70s Polaris vs the 488 used in the 80s-90s? I know the newer ones have more power but wondering if they will interchange.

Kokusan is a Japanese engine manufacturer?

I know Fugi is... I'm just curious how Fugi got into the picture as they only made engines for Polaris that I know of, and it looks like they are making the cranks for the '13 800 Pro.

Good catch. I misread the information. Kokusan makes ignitions not engines.

All the parts should interchange. They didnt change that motor at all besides better porting and different timing over the years that made a tad bit more HP.
