700 RMK oil consumption

I have a 08 700 RMK that seemed to be using a lot of oil. On the last tank of gas I actually measured the oil and gas consumed. It figured out to be about a 20:1 ratio. I was also riding with a 09 700 RMK that did the same thing. We had a 05 700 RMK in our group that used less than half the oil we did. We are not fouling plugs but I'm wondering if it should be turned down and if so, how do you do it? Thanks.

I have a 2007 D7, was 37:1 from the factory, loosened the 10mm jam nuts 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns and it's at 57:1 now for the last 1200+ miles

So the adjustment is somewhat sensitive, meaning a little over 1 full turn= 20 points on the ratio.

If you're absolutely certain you're at 20:1, I'd go between 1 1/2 and 2 full turns on the 10mm adjuster nuts and re-check the ratio over a couple or three tankfuls.

Mine was about 25:1.

$40 to have my dealer adjust it and set TPS while he was in there. I'll save that much after a couple of rides.

Not at all, I trail ride the $hit out of mine, 3700 miles now, used the same 60:1 guideline ratio on my EDGE's as well, 6400 miles on my old 2002 EDGE-X 800, 5000+ miles on my 2001 EDGE-X 600, NEVER a problem.

Not at all, I trail ride the $hit out of mine, 3700 miles now, used the same 60:1 guideline ratio on my EDGE's as well, 6400 miles on my old 2002 EDGE-X 800, 5000+ miles on my 2001 EDGE-X 600, NEVER a problem.

Cool.

For some reason I had in my head 45:1 being optimal.

I'll be curious to see what mine will be after the adjustment.
