700 RMK exhaust valve questions

Just bought a new 2008 polaris 700 RMK and I noticed that the tubes coming out of a solenoid looking thing on the right side were missing. Is this okay? or should I attach new hoses to the one running across the front of the motor? I've attached some photos, the last one is what my dad's 700 dragon looks like and what I've used for reference.
I've also read about blocking the exhaust valves, is this what this was done for? and are there downsides to blocking them?

The solenoid is essentially by-passed by using the 1/4" rubber line that you have on your sled.

I ran my 2007 D7 for 5,000 miles that way, same for my bud's 2007 D7, 3,500+ miles, noticeably more responsive.

You may want to remove those black plastic exhaust valve covers

I noticed in the pics there's rust "shpewing" out of one of them, exhaust valve spring may be rusted and broken???????

And while you're in there, clean the exhaust valves, AND the bores

Plugged exhaust valves referenced there along with a lot of info you may find helpful

Good info. I'll have to take a look at my springs. Dealer mentioned the springs could be broke or valves dirty when I explained a weird increase on acceleration at about 1/4 throttle on the way up and an abrupt decrease in power on the way down about exactly the same spot. Hopefully it's something easy or a simple goofy spot at that point in the throttle travel.

I'll be digging into it here this month.

Hey guys,
I tried unhooking my valves last year and noticed no change whatsoever, so I put them back how they should be.

I wouldn't change from the factory set up but cleaning and checking things over will be a priority for me. Especially since I have never had them out in 2100 miles since 2007. I have a funny suspicion the springs or dirty ness could be causing some of my issue. New clutch springs are probably needed just as well.

When you're out riding, You can take a simple pair of mini vice grips with you and pinch off the rubber line going to the solenoid.

In less time than it takes to read this thread, you can make your own determination on whether or not it works for you
