7 flashes????

hey every 900 owner. Im checking for my father in-law about a problem. He has an 06 900 he pulled the motor to fix motor mounts everything went great. Went for our first ride the other week and the check engine light is flashing seven times. We got the flash sode list but what could possibly cause this. All wires are hooked up, runs awesome no wires seem to be broke or bare just a weird situation I ride with him and i dont want to be towing him out if i dont have to any help would be awesome. Any body have any ideas. THANKS

check your wires again, that in an injector code, we have seen many 900's with wires pushing out of connectors in the injector connectors. the codes dont show up for no reason.

if you had the motor out you had the connections apart. a pin could have pushed out causing an intermittent connection. i also put dielectric grease in every electrical connection on that sled. it solved a bunch of my problems. keeps moisture out and connections better.

On the bold. That was my problem also. Also put the grease in like BiggDawg said.

I was getting the seven flash code also after putting engine back in. Turned out one of the injector connectors from the ECU to the injector wires, two of the pins were pushed out but cannot remember if it was the male or female end. Might of been the female end.

You will have to pull the tank off again and look through all the injector connectors. You will see the one that is missing/pushed in with good lighting and have to push the pins back in. Then the flashes were gone and fixed.

Thanks for the update. I'm about to pull mine out. I'll have to check all the connectors very closely when it goes back in.

On 06's I always mark the injector connectors with masking tape. Easy to get them swapped.

we never did pull the motor all the way which might be the prob. Had 1 broken motor mount i was only there for part of it to let him in my garage and to help lift out the motor and there for support so the bad part is im not sure what he pulled or anything but my thought after reading all your info i think leaning the motor back caused something but what i dont know. That is what i thought right away but sometimes people dont want to hear that. Could a broken wire in the wiring do it or would we see more symptoms this is just my thought with the motor being leaned back(tilted back). Cutting or pinching some wires is the harness. THANKS he owes us all a six pack:face-icon-small-hap

If you tipped the motor back you could have definitely pinched or unplugged a wire. I would pull the tank and go over all the wiring and hoses on the back of the engine very carefully to look for shorted or broken wires or any other damage.

On my fusion each injector wire was marked with top mag/bottom mag/top pto/bottom pto. Which was marked from factory. Not sure if they did that to all engines but mione were clearly marked. Also the wires on the ECu end were marked the same also. Was white paper coated with something plastic so won't rub, tear off.

If the wires weren't disconnected then they definitely pulled loose in the connections for the injectors. Tank will have to be taken off and go through all the injector connections and look for pulled out pins as I stated in previous post. Even if they were disconnected they are also easy to be pushed out when putting the connectors back together. If it is flashing 7 times that means one of the injectors ain't in use and might be causing a lean condition maybe if one injector is U/S.

Yep ended up being the connectors behind the tank had to put the pins back into the connector funny thing is its running funny now almost glad its not my sled.... Do you think an injector not running for a wwhile might get plugged. Plugs look fine now but it seems like it is missing a little or cuts out about every 4-5 seconds. any ideas everything is hooked up and we made sure of it........I think????? Thanks everyone

Glad to see you got it solved, well almost. But Not sure what to say about the bold. Never had that problem before. Hope you get that sled solved.
