670 Oil Leak

Newbie Needs some advice.

Been getting the sled ready for the season, and while cleaning the Raves, I noticed oil on the front of the Engine mounting plate. Wiped it off and it was back again a couple days later. Checked all of the hoses and cant see any leaks, also no oil on the front of the engine.

What should I be looking for when I pull the motor?

your Y-pipe is probably just loose and it is blowing out there.

Oil Leak

The motor hasn't been run in months and the oil is new, not burnt.

Would the oil pump leak while the sled is in storage?

If it is injection oil, check the weep oil under the water pump housing, most likely the seals on the rotary valve shaft.

i haved the same problem on my 670x rotoryvalve seal. i lost have of the oil over the summer. it only leaked in the summer, in the winter the sled was out side and never leaked, after that i drained out the oil in the tank before storage.

You didn't have to change the seal!
