670 gearing ?

I have a twin-piped 670 w/ a 144, and I run 19/44. I think it works great for me using the stock 9-tooth drivers. (I rolled the chain case to run the 2" track)

Depending on your drivers ya the 19-43 or 44 is a nice combination... You'll need the 70 p chain if your goin down from say a 23 top gear.

Joes calculator will give ya an idea what to expect for final drive ratio taking into account your tracks pitch,how many tooth drivers etc..

thanx for the link, what is a 70p chain? and currently i run a 21 top gear , last week we went out the snow was wet and heavy , i know making the clutching and sled work alot harder my belt was so hot you couldn't hardly touch it, is this normal. will going to a 19 help with the heat issues....thanx :beer;

It's the amount of links in the chain.. don't know for sure but chances are you've got a 72.. which might be a tad long for the 19t with a 43 bottom..
I believe 21-43 is stock gearin in those year summits , so if you've added track length (like a 151) then you would probably like the results of the 19 top , and yes it would help with that belt issue.. Bear in mind there will be less load to the secondary now so you may have to play with your clutchin to get the peak rpms correct again..:beer;
