650 SnoBerg

I was looking for more power found a low hour 650 Husaberg 65 hp. One small problem they put the chain on the wrong side. Thought about a new kit right drive long track but knew that was out of budget. I have a 13 kit so here is how I made it work and to go back to left drive move the sprocket and spacers. First order a 137 2.3 track with some Ice Age rails, next layout new side plates went 1/4" trying to eliminate some flex. Had to make this first modification to the frame to move tensioner to right side. Went with 1 inch shaft 4140 made a sprocket shaft also 1 inch. Used Fafiner GYA100RRB bearings with the greasable G52MSA/MSB flangett these bearings are adjustable for alignment also the same bearing used on the track and jackshaft on a snowmobile that run for years and thousand of miles. The track and jackshaft both shoulder and lock to sprocket side, the opposite bearing the shaft floats in the bearing so there is no bearing sideloading. All sprockets and brake rotor hub have set screws over the keys, the 17 t drive sprocket has a extended hub with a 2 inch long key. I went with 18 t to 19 t for track drive. the chain case is sealed with this type of idler no slots in frame for snow to get in. Added cross bars to eliminate side flex of plates and tied top of plates to frame eliminating flex. raised the skid up in the frame to lower the bike it is 15 inch from floor to footpeg. I weighed my ST kit 120 lb weighed this 140 lb added 20 lbs maybe 1/4 side plates is overkill but it doesnt flex. Was going to paint side plates but look cool aluminum color.

I like it!

How much lower is the seat height now compared to before your mad fab skills? I also have 650 Berg and dropping seat height wouldn't hurt my feelings, in addition to the many obvious advantages of your work (more track in the snow, less flex, more reliability, etc.). Thank you.

My first bike was a 650 berg loved that bike. Call Rick bozarth in Portland for parts best husaberg guy in US
I had 02. built summer of 2011 it was at timbersled all summer getting right hand drive cage fabed up.

The final year of production (2008) the 650 dyno'd at 63hp and was a good step above the '06 and '07 Bergs we had. They are awesome bikes. My '08 had a turbo, a 700 kit, and nitrous on it, all at different times. I had a weak moment and sold my '08. Should have kept it.

I did keep the turbo kit, and I have a complete 700cc bolt on kit for the 650. The 700 kit is the most powerful non-turbo motor I have ridden to date, and provides as good, or better than stock reliability.
