600 pro reliability and power

I think its a great idea.. I'm considering it coming off an 800 Pro.
Depending on your weight and elevation I think its a great idea for the reliability factor alone.
I have yet to ride the 600 to make final judgements, but by what I hear from others, its plenty capable.

I think it is really difficult to declare that the 600 is any more reliable or trouble free than the 8. Especially since you get such a narrow perspective from this limited resource website. Also note there are about 100 times as many PRO 800 on the snow as 600's so obviously reliability situations are skewed. You also have the factor that the 800 have two seasons of noise and the PRO 6 only one.
I 100% agree that if you were satisfied with a D7 you will really enjoy the performance of the PRO 600. There really isn't night and day difference between the sleds especially if you are lighter and enjoy boondock style riding as opposed to big pull hill climbing. Properly setup a 600 PRO can be super impressive and is a lot less money.

I've ridden my 600 pro into some tight situations this year and its capabilities have shocked me. I can tell ya - for a rider with a lighter body style who is coming off of a D7, you're hair will stand up. It is an insanely fun sled. Will it run circles around the d7? Maybe after you've had a year on the new chassis to get used to it and you've got it set up perfectly. Different story coming off of an IQ.
Have to agree with f-bomb again here, there's not a lot of 600 pros on the snow yet. Mine however, has been spectacular all year. Pull the rope and go, no issues at all. With the beefy bottom end on the new 6 cfi and shorter stroke, I just cannot imagine this engine blowing apart on you. Part of the reason why I bought one.
If you are interested in a yr. old. Mine will be up for sale. I'm a little too heavy for her.

my teacher who raced in the iron dog had his rush practice machine 2011 had SO many problems with his rush 600...the crank blew on him...and before that he blew up one of the pistons...so who knows what up with polaris

1200 miles on the 600 pro this year only replaced the pipe sensor.
The rush short track models use a different 4 injector motor than the 2 injector pro motor so you cant compare.
It will out perform your d7 hands down and stock d8s also.
Dont hesitate to buy you will love it.

Well im talking about a pro rmk different motor than the rush chassis sleds.
I have both. 2008 D7 SLP pipe/can/pcv 155" w/ 2012 pro skid and CE track vs my wifes 2012 600 155". The D7 can beat it in a hill climb and on the really deep days it can point uphill better because it simply has more torque. The 2012 however beats it in the trees, sidehilling, overall handling and by just being more fun. It won't wear you out and it's way more predictable. I bought it for the wife and I'm glad I did because her skill level doubled the day she switched from the D7 to the 600. Once the warranty is up a 660 will go in and then it will run circles around the D7 and maybe Pro 800's.

I run a base 600 RMK 144 and I love this sled. Im a new rider as of this year, and this machine has been a great one to learn on. The 600 has crazy power for its class, im not even thinking about an 800 in the future, just refining this 600 motor with a 660 kit or maybe going Pro 600 at some point.

I have a pro rmk 600 that has about 300 miles on it now. This is one of the funniest sleds I've ridden. I also have a 800 SBA for comparison purposes. I don't even consider the SBA after riding the 600 Pro RMK out west. All the 800 guys I ride with are VERY impressed with the 600 performance. I weigh about 185lbs w/out gear. If I get a 2013 it will be another 600 Pro-rmk...just wish they had the color options of the 800.
I'd bet a pretty pretty penny that I can make a PRO 600 that you wouldn't be able to tell was 200cc smaller when you ride it! I rode a great running 2012 PRO with a good clutch kit and a cat track...it flat out works. I think I can even do better than that one. I guess we will see?
