600 pro big bore

I've been looking into getting a big bore for my 600 pro. What does everyone think about the slp 660.

I don't have any first hand Knowledge but it's probably a solid package. Personally I would get the Carls 660. Many guys running that and it rips.

I would love to hear someone comment on the powerband of the big bore 660 v a stock 800. I have been interested in building one like this as a girlfriend sled that I would still play with.

My buddy has a 660 in an '08 RMK. It is a pooch next to a stock 800, no comparison. It barely runs with my old M7. I have seen him simply not be able to make climbs everybody else on 700s and 800s can. Runs with 800s when it is on NOS though. So, for an extra $30 a ride, it actually does run with stock 800s.

An 08 600 compared to a 600 pro rmk is like comparing night to day the new ones will run with a stock 800 with 660 kit fairly easy..

The good 660 kits like the one from Carl's is a super strong runner and will have no issues keeping up with a stock 800 on deep days... Not the same low end grunt.. but you cant expect that from a 6mm shorter stroke.

Exactly right

The 660 will not have the torque of the 800's due to the shorter stroke, but it spools up like a blender - think of it as a 125 two stroke MX bike vs a 250. Both get the job done, but you have to ride the 660 a bit harder as the powerband isn't quite as forgiving. If ridden aggressively, the 660 in a PRO has no issues keeping up to a stock 800 PRO. The Carl's 660 I installed has zero tuning issues, just pull the rope and go, and feels "lighter" then the 800 - likely due to less crank inertia. I never had it dyno'd, but power delivery is similar to my wife's previous 09 M8 with SLP pipeset and head at 5-8000' elevation.

Don't mean to burst your bubble but, the engines are nearly identical. The IQ 660 was running against M-series cats, XP Doo's and even gets skunked by Edge 800s.

I would LOVE to see a Pro 660 keep up with an 800 Pro. You are kidding yourself. How do you figure it can keep up in the same wieght chassis because the 600 is no lighter than the 800 model and you are giving away 140cc's? Because Carls and SLP work magic on them?

And the poo 800 is down on power

carls 660 kit uses stock 700 polaris pistons, then adds there porting, and there own fuel mapping. so its basically a destroked, ported, pissed off 700. the short stroke allows it to rev extremelly fast. on and off the throttle is lots of fun. ive got a buddy with a stock 13 800 155, and my 660 is a 13 155, havent gotten to do a real direct comparison yet because of the crappy snow, but i will say ive got absolutlly no problem keeping up so far.

You are obviously someone that hasn't rode a 660 or even a 600/800 same day.
The 600 "feels" lighter because of less rotating mass vs an 800. I have rode with many 660s built by carls, in edge, iq and pro chassis. Line a 660 and stock 800 of the same chassis up on a lake and the 660 will pull on the 800. Put the same two sleds next to each other on a hill with 2 feet of fresh and that is where you will see the 800 pull, due to having the torque that the 660 is lacking.

The post you made is lacking experience and knowledge on the subject and you made that very clear. :face-icon-small-sho

I stole the gf's stock pro 600 every chance I got last week and I have no doubt that a well built and tuned 660 could easily out do a bone stock 800.

Don't mean to burst yours either but obviously you have no idea what your talking about i have real life experiences and many many hours on these sleds 800 's and 600 Pro's not IQ sleds they are completely different. . And yes a 660 Will run with a "stock" 800, it's OK to be wrong.
