6 Sleds on a 22' Trailer?

Okay Guys,
First of all has anyone done this with mountain sleds? I have 2 146" xp Summits, 2 154" Xp, and a 159 and 153 summit rev. Will this work or can we put them on sideways.

Will it Work?

Sorry but I don't think this will work. How wide is it? I think even a 146 will be longer than 8' 6" so crossway won't work. We have a 30' and the back two hang off the back when there is 6 in the trailer. This might sound silly but get some graph paper measure your trailer make a drawing on the paper 1 foot = 1 square. Measure your sleds make some cut outs move them around to see if it works, it's a whole lot easier than WWE with 6 sleds.

Exactly what he said ^^^. You basically have 6 sleds averaging out at 10' long each. You are going to be lucky getting 5 on the trailer and 1 in the bed of the truck, and that is probably pushing the outer limits with a 22'r. Sled deck, air bags, and a HD hitch on that bad boy and you could pull off 6 sleds. Or just get a buddy to pony up and take 2 vehicles with another trailer.

no way would it fit unless you start stacking tracks on tunnels, if its a v-nose you could MAYBE squeeze 5 on with no stacking, run 1 forward up in the V and back the next 2 on, then run the next 2 on forward, but its going to be tight.

Loading sideways is possible but you would be over the legal width.

We've loaded 3 sideways on a 10' trailer before but that was only to drive 35 miles. They loaded very easy.

Do the paper cutout idea. Sometimes you can slide a spare tire or something under a few tracks to get the back of the sled higher so the sled right behind it has the nose sitting between the track/tunnel.

Here is another idea which I've used on my triton 10' x 101 to haul 3 sleds facing forward - Use a 4x4 fence post across the tongue (I have a wishbone trailer tongue) then slide the two outside sleds forward so the spindles are slightly behind the 4x4 and the rears of the skis are still on the trailer. Not sure if this would help with a v-nose trailer and loading config, but it is an idea. Maybe could build a temporary rear trailer extension too but haven't given that any thought for your situation.

Oh yeah, if not said before, a sled doesn't have to have the entire track on the trailer to be secure. Maybe a few tracks hang over the back a few feet. I cant guarantee it is legal but I've done that before over 1000's of interstate miles and never been ticketed.

you might be able to if you could let the back 2 hang off that back and the front 2 pull on backwards so they can hang off the front? Depends on the length of the tongue on the trailer and if there's any salt shields or things like that I suppose.

Another idea would be to angle them sideways and see if you could get them on that way. Still don't think your gonna get more than 5 on there but good luck!

Angle sideways and stagger the sleds, as mentioned. May come close.

3 sleds sideways and staggered on a 10' fit fine. You have 22 plus the v, right.
the track of first sled toward the v, then work backward on the trailer. Might work.

Let me ask you this. If you have 6 sleds (and presumably will keep that many for a while), what is keeping you from selling off the 22' trailer and buying something in the 25'-30' range? Might be a better option to save some stress on your part and wear/tear on a trailer that's not designed to carry that many vehicles. Plenty of rental places that would probably have 6 or 8 place trailers they are looking to get rid of for a good price.

Well, I think we now have 8 people going so we now going to split into two trailers. Luckly I wont have to find out if they would fit. I only have four sleds myself so for the rare trips of taking 6 sleds, it wouldnt be worth me buy a new trailer.

Makes sense ^^. So you are set as-is, just looking to cram a whole crew together instead of taking multiple rigs if possible.

Done the same thing before, 5 on a 18 foot deck this way and it worked fine.

How long were these sleds? Seems to me anything under 146" might work that way, but 5 'long tracks' doesn't seem feasible. Just wondering.
