550 turbo

i want to try to turbo my little 550 just to see how it turns out. i'm totally new to turbos and tuning so this will be like a "learning build". i have read alot about carbs and turbos and im thinking a "draw-through?" will be easiest in ways of carb tuning. any thougts on this?

Do it buddy it will be a learning experience and a costly one at that.
If your looking for info I did a 440 zr snopro in the artic cat forum from scratch and my first one also and it rips.

little smoker !!!!

thats a very hard head to machine, it has 2 steps and is recessed into the cylinder top.. have at her.

75 hp with a widened exhaust port, add a 2860 or 2871 and it should be a fun little ****er..just watch out for heat..

i have some small problems for now, that i can think of. first i don't have a battery on my sled, can i run the oil pump the the lights or something or do i need a battery?
second, when building a carb turbo i've seen guys connecting the carbs and the vacuum box. i know this is to pressurise the carbs. the thing i don't know is how to do it. if you guys could explain it to me that would be really great :D
and mabye a picture or two of this!

you will need the battery for the fuel pump and oil pump. get the relay from your doo dealer for the electric start 550. that will allow you to charge the battery when riding .

all the info you need is on the carb turbo thread I penned on here 4 yrs ago. pm christopher. he knows all, sees all, is all... !!!!!!!

he will know where the thread is.
