Well parts are rolling in for my bike. Got a 03 525sx here the list of parts I got.
570 kit
Cut7 head oversize kibble white hardware
Stage 5 cam
43mm carb
Rekluse clutch
Welded crank
.60 fork springs
Pro moto pegs
Soft seat
Cyclops light
E start kit
Mxc 5&6 gears
Sxs snow shield
Hope it turns out well. Pulling motor tonight.

You should be happy with that ,it's about the same as I had done to my 525 exc last year trans was great as well as the power this year I'm going long track 2.3x12x137 should be even better

Curious if you've talked to SXS yet. I don't see snowshed shields for older ktm on their website. Would like one for my 525 and am getting less enthused about making one myself, even though I have the plastic already, now that the shop is 15 degrees. Guess I'll just email them and find out.

I got one coming. I ordered everytging through a freeing that is a dealer for them. It a few weeks out yet is all I know. Lol

Engines

While the 554 cc engine you are building will work well I build a lot of welded crank 613 engines for this use. No replacement for more displacement.

Especially at altitude.

Works perfect with an exc trans and a stronger mid rsnge cam than the stage five which I also have just never use.

Some intake velocity loss with the big head and carb and 554 cc's IMO

If you need much bigger than a 180 type main jet the velocity is down.

What needle are you intending to use?

I have subscribed to this thread as I am not here often.

Chadx, I had one made for my Husky at Power Sports Tech in Roberts..Brads phone is 406-446-2019. He's a great guy and very knowledgeable. I'm sure he can make you one. ..may need to take bike to him.

Jon, at SXS, just gave me a call and he finished up the 525 snowshed plate this week so he is making me one as well. He said they are about a month away from the machine-cut 525 plates so he is hand cutting me one now that he has the template done. So now I don't have to feel guilting looking at the plastic I bought a year ago to make my own but hadn't made the time to as of yet. Ha. The SXS plate will, no doubt, be a lot cleaner than whatever I would come up with. I'll still make myself a couple removable radiator block outs.

Build is on hold. Got the wrong tranny gears. New ones should be here tomorrow. Right now I'm in the UP killing my sled off trail. Going home wensday and might come back on Thursday for the weekend. Should have it done by the 8th for that trip I'm hoping.
