509 Polarized goggle review

Riding up on the Pemberton Icecap 3-4 times a week at this time of year my eyes would get fried from the sun and reflection off the snow. I was using Bolle goggles which had the darkest lens I could find but wanted something easier on the eyes. When I saw the 509 had a polarized lens I asked Tom if he could send me out a pair to try out. Tom was nice enough to send me out a set and I got them about 10 days later which is pretty good for mail across the border. I was quite impressed with the quality of the frame and lens of the 509’s. The band actually sticks to the helmet and doesn’t slide down the back of it. The polarized lens really works well up on the glaciers. No more glare and they are much easier on the eyes. I put the nose shield on just to see how it fits and was going to take it off. I forgot to and am glad I did, we had some pretty cold winds a couple of weeks ago and the shield also helps your nose from getting burned off from the sun. The wide foam makes these goggles very comfortable to wear. Two thumbs for the 509’s

I too bought the polarized lenses and I am very happy with them, even when night riding they still work incredibly well, the lenses work great for bright sunny days, I got the brown lenses and will get the dark lenses just to see what the difference in the two is.

Now it sounds like I need to get the blu-ray DVD just by what has been posted on here. I have bought 2 sets of sinister goggles and extra lenses all of which were purchased separate and the shipping was always fast, usually within 3 days!! I have never talked to Tom personally but I appreciate his efforts with the sinister goggles to make sledding more enjoyable! which they do. And Evolution is one of my favorite snowmobiling DVD's, A couple of the bands that have music in the DVD are some of the best music I have heard out side of "Bang Your Head" and " I Wanna Rock "! that are in Slednecks 10 and Boondockers 4, keep up the good work :beer;

Awesome to hear about the new Polarized lenses. I know the 509 goggles have seen great reviews for the goggles themselves but I have to admitt I was a bit sceptical about at real polarized lenses, based upon the price. AS most polarized lenses I by for sunglasses run 100 bucks plus. So its great to see a working product in an already proven frame at an affordable price.

Congrats to 509 films for this and all their products. I own a pair of 509 goggles with the chrome and orange lenses, and have wanted to add the polarized to them, now I will. A good (true)polarized lense will work in the best and worst light conditions, flat light expescially..

Polarized is the way to go, thanks 509 for making it work in an affordable way.

bought mine, and first day riding them,was THOROUGHLY impressed!!! helped huge amounts in the sun!!!

thanks for the post...reminded me that I wanted to order a couple more lenses just for ummmm those times I smack trees...not that it happens...just insurance...yeah that sounds good!!! :P

Here is pic of them on my scooter...
