i am just curious if anyone has used the goggle fans specifically the 509 ones. I am looking at buying one but i am curious to see how they perform. any feedback is appreciated.

I have a set on my Black-OPS with a 509 Helmet and they worked great in Cooke in the snow and wind.
The only thing I found was that you need to use a breath deflector to get the best results.

breath deflector

what breath deflector to use in the 509 helmet.. i would think that any deflector would work right??

509 has one for there helmet, they included it with the helmet.
I forgot to through it in the helmet bag but bought a aftermarket one from the Cat dealer in Cooke.

You might not need the deflector, I just found it helped when I was sitting still.

I just picked up the 509 Sinister goggles and a fan last week. I was really happy with their performance...but, our conditions weren't bad so they haven't really been put to the test yet. I do have high hopes though.

i have the sinisters with habervision installed, they work good most of the time. but they are not fog proof. there are still those certain days when they fog. seems like my old scott goggles were not as likely to fog over

They are the same fan. HaberVision manufactures both of them. The 509 one is just re-labeled. Both have a built in humidity sensor that will automatically turn the fan on to prevent fogging.

When used how they are designed they do a great job. They are meant so that you put them in your goggles and turn it on the auto (yellow) setting. Let the fan work for you to prevent fogging. Try and leave your goggles on your face. If they are on your face the inside of the goggles will stay dry. If you take your goggles off and on all the time then you are increasing the odds that you introduce water/snow/moisture to the inside of the goggle. The fan is not designed to deal with that type of moisture. If you put a chunk of snow inside the goggle that has a lot of moisture in it. You will probably fog after that.

Leave them on your face and let the fan prevent fogging from sweat.

I cannot speak for 509 but with HaberVision if you are not 100% happy with the fan we will issue you a full refund. You really have nothing to lose by giving them a shot. I am pretty sure you will keep them. I have them in all of my goggles now.

Right now you can get the Riva Eliminator Goggle combo for $109

I have the 509's with the fan and they work great. First ride out I tried all day to get them to fog. I would get a little and they would clear quikly. Best googles I have bought to date. Love them and would highly recomend them.

I have both and they both work great! And like said above they are the same fan just with a different logo on them.

I just picked up a pair of Habers, shoot, like Milehigh said, money back guarantee? You can't beat that! I've done a TON of searching, haven't found very many complaints about the Haber goggles. Planning on trying them out next weekend.

Fan works great.....very good product ! always bring spare batteries till you always remember to turn them off after riding for the day...lmao :face-icon-small-sho :face-icon-small-coo

I sell both but still have a question, I know I should know this but.

My boy has used the 509 with his 509 goggles and he likes them, I brought home a havervision last year but did not use it, I was in Togwotee and went to put it on my 509 goggles but it did not fit. The 509 vesrsion has a small indent to fit the plastic on the 509 goggles the havervision model does not have this. If you look at the pictures on our web site you can see that they are not the same part that mounts on top of the goggles, the 509 has a small indent in them.

Thanks
Mark

Does anyone know why the 509 fan has be dis-continued? and has anyone installed the haber fan into a pair of sinisters? they say it needs to be installed upside down, just wondering how that works?

My 509 fan is a joke!! Battery cover wont stay on falls of all the time and you have to wiggle the battery to get the fan to come on! and then as you ride the fan will quit cause the battery has moved.

I have the habor fan in both my aviators and my sinisters, on the sinisters you need to remove the screws from the retainer, and flip it over then install, it helps to remove the lens when installing the fan,,makes it much easier to align the fan since its a tight fit, then reinstall lens,,,,,oh..and the fan works excellent as long as you keep your goggle free of snow/water on the inside..they handle sweat no problem...

Habber Fan

If your battery door won't stay on you've likely broken a tab off one side which I realize I did 2nd last time out. When you're changing a battery out in the cold you need to be as small as an insect on steroids to get in there properly to remove the battery door with out breaking it.

It's the only thing I don't like about the Habber fan, other wise it's a great system.

Call us up, there is a 1 year warranty on it...1-877-743-3509

The 509 fan hasn't been discontinued, however it is sold out for the season. We have proposed several improvements to the fan with Haber. They have been very receptive to our suggestions, and I anticipate this product will only get better in the future.

I'll give you some info. The 509 retaining clip is slightly different than the 509 one, but like others have said you can flip the HaberVision clip upside down and it will work fine.
