509 Lens Choices

I am looking to buy some new 509s. What two lens would eveyone suggest? I want one for low light cloudy days. (I hear a blue or blue tint is good) Then one for the bluebird days. ( I hear an orange or orange tint works well) I was thinking of buying one pair of goggles with the case and then swapping the lens out as needed. Any and all advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

I've been using the Aviators for a couple years and love them....these have worked well for me.

Overcast- yellow tint (my go-to lens.. I like it a lot)
Sunny- smoke tint

I use yellow 95% of the time.

I also do not recommend buying one frame and two lenses and swapping them. Its a PIA to change the lens on the 509's and the more often you mess with them the higher the chance they will start leaking. Eric

I've been riding for about 6 years and hated every goggle I tried. Klim Scott Oakley etc etc UNTIL I ponied up and bought 509 sinisters two weeks ago. You can NOT make them fog they rock. I bought the black ops. Came with polarized black tint. I have been rocking clear because it has not need sunny yet. Best purchase I have ever made.

I'm using the old style sinisters, but recommend having 2 different goggles. One pair I run polarized brown/bronze for overcast flat light. Everybody I talk to says yellow works the best, but yellow messes with my eyes. The others are polarized smoke for bluebird days. Almost never wear the smokes because it always seems to snow on us. Almost tempted to go with bronze in both pairs.

Thank you for the input. Now that I know changing the lens is a pain I will pony up and buy two pair.

You will be happy you did. So much easier to just pull out a dry pair and put them on. I also agree with others. The yellow tint gets used most of the time for me also. Their polarized ones would nice on sunny bright days but just the plain yellow is a great bad light lens.

I tried 509 Orange lenses for low light days and never looked back...I also do not like yellow. Personally, I do not like what the chrome film does for my vision either so I'm back to just straight tints. The Chrome tint makes everything dimmer and harder to see definition on the snow. Try Orange, I think you'll like it.

Just got a pair of the 509 X5 with the polarized smoke, normally I wear rose tint. Had in sunny conditions the first trip, they rocked. Just got back from Togwotee and it was really flat light the entire trip. They worked really well for me there too, was pretty surprised, thought they would be too dark.

I have a yellow pair of avatars for low light and a pair of black fire avatars for the brighter days and also work so so on the low light days. Never had a problem with them fogging up.

Ranoutoftalent,

For low cloudy days you can't go wrong with a Rose, yellow, or blue tinted lens.
Brown/ Bronze polarized or mirrored lenses for sunny days. A good all around color to choose would be yellow or orange. We have all the lenses in stock for aviator and sinister goggles. If you have any further questions please ask!

Another vote for sinister polarized smoke in the sun and plain old yellow in low light. I have a replacement lens for each I carry in my pack as a last resort, but they are kind of a pain to change. I wouldn't want to do it daily.
